Underneath the joke it's a nicely made little toy. The skin is ribbed corduroy — proper cord, with ridges that give teeth something to catch on — while the flesh and the stone are soft plush, so there are two textures in a toy that fits in one hand. The face is embroidered onto the stone rather than stuck on, so there's nothing sitting proud of the fabric waiting to be picked off.
