Except there is one genuinely sensible thing about them, which is where the squeakers are. There's one in each lens, set well apart at either end of the toy. A dog finds one, works at it, and then discovers there's another one over there — which is more interesting than a single squeaker in the middle, and it stops them chewing one spot until it fails.
