Flat mattresses for dogs who stretch out

A flat mattress suits dogs who lie full length, and it is the easiest shape to fit inside a crate or kennel. Nesting beds for dogs who curl up

Dogs that curl into a ball usually settle better with something to lean against. Wool, fleece or waterproof?

Wool is naturally breathable and helps regulate temperature, warm in winter and cool in summer. Wool beds wash on a wool cycle, usually at 30°C, and should be dried naturally; fleece-lined beds wash at 40°C. The PVC pet mattress simply wipes clean, which is what kennels and working-dog handlers tend to need. Any of these beds can be topped with vet bedding for extra warmth and comfort, and a loose fleece layer lifts off to wash on its own.

Getting the size right

Measure your dog from nose to the base of the tail while they are lying stretched out, then add roughly 15–20cm so they can sprawl. Dogs that curl up can take a closer fit; dogs that stretch right out should size up. For crates, measure the internal base from inner edge to inner edge, not the outside frame, and pick the nearest size that fits inside. If you are unsure, ring 01262 606100 and we will help.
