Give mealtimes a slower pace

A simple obstacle pattern for everyday feeding.

The Hungry Henry Slow Feeder has three kidney-shaped obstacles moulded into the base. Food settles around them, giving your dog channels to work through rather than an open pile to scoop up.

Both sizes sit level. Choose a size that accommodates your dog’s usual meal and gives their muzzle room to reach the food.

About brand

Hungry Henry: hygienic bowls for tidier mealtimes

Hungry Henry is our feeding range, built around stainless steel because it is non-porous, does not hold onto smells or scratches the way plastic can, and goes straight in the dishwasher. The Hungry Henry Feeding Bowl has a rubber non-slip base ring that stops it sliding across the kitchen floor and protects wood and tile from scratches. It suits dry kibble, wet food or water and comes in 700ml, 1.2L and 2L sizes, with a choice of stainless steel, pink or blue finishes.

For breeders, the wide Litter Feeding Bowl lets a whole litter eat together at weaning and is shaped to discourage puppies from walking through or sitting in their food, in 1.2L, 1.5L and 2L sizes. The bone-shaped Silicone Tray with Twin Bowls pairs a non-slip, food-grade silicone mat with two removable steel bowls and a raised lip that catches dribbles and spills, and it works just as well for cats as for dogs. Choose a bowl that holds your pet's usual portion with a little room to spare, and refresh water daily.

Small or Large

Choose the size that fits the meal

The base also differs between the two sizes.

Small measures 14cm across and 5cm high, weighs 44g and has a plain base. Large measures 16cm across and 7cm high, weighs 96g and includes 4 rubber feet underneath.

The feet help reduce movement, but grip depends on the floor and how your dog eats. A feeding mat can help with either size. Pick by meal size and access to the food, rather than body weight alone.

Right for Your Dog?

Choose for your dog’s meal and muzzle

Comfortable access matters as much as bowl size.

Check that the usual portion fits around the obstacles without covering them completely. Your dog should be able to reach the channels comfortably.

Introduce the bowl with a small portion and supervise the first few meals. The effect on eating pace varies between dogs.

Check the portion

Leave the obstacles visible rather than overfilling.

Care & Safety

Keep the feeding channels clean

Wash after meals and inspect regularly.

Hand wash with warm soapy water, taking care to clean between the raised shapes and along the channels. Rinse thoroughly and let the bowl dry.

Inspect the rim and moulded obstacles for damage. Remove the bowl after feeding if your dog tends to chew it, and replace it if cracked or damaged.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about this bowl.
